National Child Day at the Royal Alberta Museum

Location: Royal Alberta Museum, 12845 102 Ave NW, Edmonton
Come spend some time at RAM with your little ones in celebration of National Child Day! There will be special guests offering early childhood programming on music, movement, art and language that will be free with admission. There will also be hands-on drop-in activities and info booths for children and their families throughout the day from 10 am – 4 pm. Explore, learn and celebrate children’s rights at RAM! ARCQE National Child Day Conference 2024: Co-Imagining a World of Possibilities with Children!

Join ARCQE’s history for their 15th annual National Child Day Conference! The conference theme is Celebrating the Right To Expression of Views. Educators will get the chance to learn from 14 speakers hosting 3 keynote sessions and 11 breakout sessions, over 2 days! National Child Day in Lethbridge

Location: YMCA of Lethbridge #140 – 74 Mauretania Rd W.
The YMCA and Family Ties will be partnering with various community organizations to celebrate National Child Day! The event will include a resource fair with fun activities, an interactive art piece, photo booth, scavenger hunt, bouncy castle and free access to the YMCA community program rooms (indoor play and Rec room.)

UNICEF Canada Youth Advocacy Summit | Sommet de la jeunesse d’UNICEF Canada
Date: Wednesday, November 20, 2024
Join UNICEF Canada, youth advocates, partner organizations, and decision-makers for an intergenerational event to hear directly from young people about their ideas and recommendations on Education, Healthcare, Mental Health and Racism and Discrimination. Youth advocates will also launch the 2024 Reimagine Playbook. Hosted in partnership with BGC Canada, Equitas, Jack.org, the National Reconciliation Program at Save the Children Canada, Plan Canada, the Students Commission of Canada, and YMCA Canada. This event will be available in English and French.
Community Education Service (CES): Mental Health Collaborative | “Can We Talk: Healthy Relationships”

Join an interactive workshop to learn how to navigate those sometimes awkward but essential conversations that foster well-being, healthy relationships and informed decision-making. We empower parents with knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in open, honest and supportive conversations about sexuality and sexual health with their children. In this workshop, we will describe and explore healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationship patterns. We will learn about effective communication and practice discussing topics related to romantic/intimate relationships in ways that are grounded in your values.
Building Resiliency in Today’s Youth | Brought to you by specialists in Girls’ Mental Health

Presenter: Andrea Halwas, BA, MFA, PhD, REACE, Registered Expressive Arts Therapy Consultant, Associate Therapist & Educational Coordinator at Juno House
Before High School graduation, one-third of adolescent girls will experience depression, anxiety disorders, self-harm or an eating disorder. However, there is an incredible power in caregivers who can support our youth, both young women and men, before they seek therapy. In our 1.5-hour workshop presentation, we will share steps and strategies from the Juno House Therapeutic Model® that will provide effective emotional coaching tools for today’s youth as they develop through adolescence and into young adulthood.
